✦ Who We Are ✦
Where old traditions meet new makers.
✦ The Beginning ✦
The Patterned Past began with a simple belief: the old ways of making things are worth preserving. Not in a museum — but in your hands, at your table, in the things you create.
We started with what we knew best: Americana. Stars and stripes, eagles and liberty bells, the folk art patterns that decorated the homes of early Americans. We took those motifs and made them printable — so anyone with a printer could bring that spirit into their craft.
Every design is hand-drawn in the vintage tradition — no cold digital precision, no sterile vectors. Each line carries a little roughness, a little soul. The way things were meant to look.
Americana is just the beginning. We're building out collections for Primitive Farmhouse, Holiday Traditions, and beyond — eventually expanding into full project patterns for cloth primitive crafts you can make at home.
If you've ever wanted to make something truly handmade, something that looks like it came from another era, you're in the right place.
"There is something sacred
about making things by hand.
It connects us to everyone
who made things before us."

✦ What We Stand For ✦
Every design starts with a pencil, not a mouse. The imperfections are intentional — they're what makes it feel real.
We draw from genuine American folk art traditions — motifs and styles passed down through generations of makers.
Every pattern is designed to work with what you already have — a home printer, scissors, and a little creativity.
Affordable patterns, no subscriptions, no tricks. Buy what you love and download it forever.
